Investiture Ceremony

The most awaited event of the year for the students of MGD Girls’ School, ‘The Investiture Ceremony’ was organized on 17 November 2021. The hard work put in by the Student Council, Fuchsia Fundraiser, Rajmata Memorial English Debate, Technacks, and much more before being formally invested with the ‘Badge’, has enriched their vision as leaders. The formal ‘pinning of the badge’ by the PrincipaL Mrs Archana S Mankotia, traditional garlanding by the Coordinators, House Secretary, Housemasters and the Staff Editor for the thirty-seven respective designates of the student council was followed by a rendition of the school prayer ‘I would be true.’ The event began with an invocation to Goddess Saraswati and the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the Principal Mrs Archana S Mankotia, Administrative Officer Col S S Sangwan, SM*(Retd), School Coordinator Mrs Pramendra Khangarot and the House Secretary Mrs Nirmala Sharma followed by the pinning of the badge, the Oath taking by the new Student Council and the school prayer ‘I would be true’. The Head Girl of the Student Council 2021-22, Ridhima Magon in her address stated, “We were tested by times which the world had not seen and may never see again, when the entire life pattern was disrupted, since April 2020 and the tough time only made us Go-Getters to achieve what we had never imagined would happen in our school lives.” It couldn’t have been put more correctly in words, this year's Student Council proved that they could achieve anything even when the times were tough and hence their well- deserved positions. The ceremony concluded with the Principal’s address to this year's Student Council. She reiterated the five qualities that made one a leader: Honesty, Vision, Teamwork, Growth and learning, and Transformational leadership. She also stated that the Council has proved its worth with her concluding quote, “When the going gets tough, the tough get going.”
