WINNING SURELY DOES NOT ALWAYS MEAN BEING FIRST ’ Maharani Gayatri Devi Girls’ School, Jaipur celebrated its 78th Annual Day on the morning of January 22, 2022. Gen Syed Ata Hasnain PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, SM, VSM* (Retd) graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Knowledge dispels darkness, the event commenced by the lighting of the lamp and a heartfelt tribute to our founder Late Her Highness Rajmata Gayatri Devi ji and our former chairperson Late Rani Vidya Devi ji who were remembered with reverence. The Principal, Mrs Archana S. Mankotia who has carved a niche in a short time as an educational leader presented the achievements of the staff, students and the school in the form of the Annual Report . Her administrative and academic acumen has taken the institution to greater heights of glory. This was followed by the most awaited moment of the programme- The Prize Distribution Ceremony, wherein those who had achieved laurels for their Alma Mater were awarded. We could all feel the pulse racing and the adrenalin pumping as the winners for the Subjects and the Special prizes were announced. With the announcement of the House prizes, the members of the Helen Keller House rejoiced as they were declared the winners of the prestigious Rajmata Gayatri Devi Shield for Best House 2020-21. The chief guest Lt. Gen Syed Ata Hasnain Retd. addressed the gathering. In his address he was hopeful that women would soon be part of the combat forces also. He applauded the efforts of the Indian Army in J&K, under the operation BHAWNA. Dedication, Passion, worthiness, care of others has to be the USB of young girls. His words of wisdom will surely remain etched in our hearts forever.
