MGD Girls’ School conducted IDDR (International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction) Awareness Initiative at TAABAR Society

A team of 5 students from Disaster Management and Sustainable Development Goals Club Bhavya Agarwal , Twisha Maheshwari ,Punjika Agarwal ,Radhika Soni and Siddhi Sharma conducted an awareness session on the occasion of IDDR, International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction for 54 children of TAABAR Society.

This activity on Disaster Management and Risk Reduction aimed at achieving UNSDG Goal No 11- Sustainable cities & communities and Goal No 17 Partnership for the Goals.

Team of DM&SDG briefed children of TAABAR about frequently occurring disasters mainly Earthquakes and Fire.

Detailed information about fire caused by electrical wires Short circuit ,gas leakage and fire caused by bursting crackers was given by the MGD team and safety measures each individual should take in reducing the casualties.

session concluded with a pledge, as this reinforces safety protocols and builds a culture of readiness. The drill provides a practical exercise, while the pledge solidifies the participants' commitment to fire safety.

Team DM&SDG also distributed food items provided by Community Service Club .

They also donated 172 kg Newspapers for the women adopted by TAABAR Society from the weaker section of Society.

The Newspapers will be used for making Paper bags and envelopes and further will be sent to market for earning their livelihood.
