MGD Girls’ School bid an emotional farewell to Ms. Bhawana Kashyap in May 2026, honouring her four-decade association with the institution.
Ms. Bhawana Kashyap’s bond with MGD came full circle. She passed out as a student of the Class of 1985, rejoined her alma mater as a Computer Teacher in 1999, and retires in 2026 after 27 years of dedicated service.
A special morning assembly was organized to bid farewell to this cherished member of the MGD family. Students presented hand-made cards, colourful bouquets, and heartfelt messages, reflecting the deep impact Ms. Kashyap had on them both in the computer lab and beyond. The assembly featured a melodious prayer sung by Ms. Bhawana Kashyap herself, a testament to her passion for music. It was followed by a student message expressing gratitude for her guidance, kindness, and quiet support throughout their school years.
The formal ceremony was graced by Director Ms. Archana S. Mankotia, Administrative Officer Col. S.S. Sangwan, Sena Medal Bar, teaching staff, support staff, and Ms. Kashyap’s family members.
The farewell address highlighted her remarkable contribution as Staff Secretary, House Incharge, School Magazine Incharge, and Computer Teacher. Beyond her official roles, her mentoring of students, loyalty to colleagues, and anonymous acts of generosity were recalled as her true legacy.
Colleagues delivered speeches honouring her selfless service, humility, and devotion to MGD. Her continued role as an active Guild member was noted, with hope for her guidance in the years ahead. Each speaker recalled instances of her generous and charitable nature.
They wished her good health and happiness in this new phase of life — unhurried mornings, family time, and musical sessions at home. The school reaffirmed that its doors and hearts would always remain open to her.
The farewell was not just a goodbye, but a celebration of a teacher who entered MGD as a student and retires as MGD values personified.
