“Yoga is the journey of the self, through the self, to the self.”
MGD Girls’ School celebrated the 12th International Day of Yoga with great enthusiasm and zeal.
Recognizing yoga’s universal value, the United Nations, on the proposal of the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Mr Narendra Modi, declared 21st June as the International Day of Yoga. This day was chosen as it marks the Summer Solstice—the longest day in the Northern Hemisphere—symbolizing light, energy, and renewal.
The theme for this year’s celebration, “Yoga for Healthy Ageing,” emphasizes the inclusion of yoga in one’s daily life to maintain physical fitness, mental well-being, and independence as we grow older, helping us age with strength, balance, and vitality.
The session was attended by the Principal, Mrs Pramendra Khangarot; Administrative Officer, Col. S. S. Sangwan, Sena Medal Bar; Coordinators, Teachers, Office Staff, Parents, Students, and Support Staff. The rejuvenating session was conducted by Yoga Guru Mr Shashi Kumar Yadav.
The Principal addressed the gathering, appreciating everyone for their presence and active participation. She also stressed the significance of incorporating yoga into one’s daily routine to maintain a healthy body, mind, and soul.
Let us carry forward the spirit of yoga in our daily lives and strive towards a future of health, harmony, and well-being.
