“In the words of the co-founder of Microsoft, ‘The advance of technology is based on making
it fit in so that you don’t really even notice it, so it’s a part of everyday life.’ Technology must
be so seamlessly infused into our lives that we barely notice it—yet it transforms the way we
live, learn, and create. With this vision, the IT Department of MGD Girls’ School organized
Technacks 2025—a week dedicated to exploration, innovation, and hands-on learning in the
field of Information Technology.
The journey of IT Week began well before its official commencement. Starting 28th July
2025, two students from each class of VI to VIII were trained in new software applications
not part of the formal curriculum but highly relevant to inter-school competitions. These
students, along with trained volunteers, assisted their peers in learning the applications:
Adobe Premiere Pro for Class VI against OpenShot, Adobe Photoshop for Class VII against
Krita, and iFrame for Class VIII against HTML. Simultaneously, students of Classes IX and X
engaged in creative designing by working on media, data science, and AI-oriented
projects, giving them early exposure to innovation and real-world applications of technology.
Between 11th to 14th August, intra-class competitions were held, ensuring that every
student of each class actively participated. From these rounds, the top scorers were
shortlisted and went on to compete in the official IT Week events. In line with our Director
Ma’am’s guiding policy of “No Child Left Behind,” the IT Department made participation
mandatory so that every student had the chance to engage, learn, and showcase their skills.
The IT Week officially commenced on 18th August 2025 with Folded Flair, a brochure-
making competition for Class IX, alongside a special workshop for teachers after school
hours.
The following days witnessed a wide range of competitions and activities:
On 19th August, Class X participated in the UI/UX competition.
On 20th August, Class VI showcased their creativity in Reel Impact, a video-editing
competition.
On 21st August, Class VII engaged in Design Dynamics, a Photoshop-based design
competition. On the same day, the final stage round of the IT Quiz was held, the
preliminaries for which had taken place on 4th August. The quiz included two
categories—Junior (Classes VI–VIII) and Senior (Classes IX–XII).
On 22nd August, Class VIII students participated in Web Weavers, a competition
based on iFrame. Meanwhile, Class IX students went on a field trip to the Rajasthan
International Centre.
